Following organisation redesign, an exciting new opportunity has arisen with one of the world’s leading mining companies for a Global Commodity Specialist – Nickel & PGEs.

Based in Brazil, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality of The Company’s greenfields nickel & PGE exploration project portfolio, maximising the prospect of discovery to add sustainable value to the organisation. As a key member of the Exploration Management team, you will be charged with providing sound strategic advice to exploration and the business development teams.

Your key accountabilities will include:

> The review and monitoring of nickel & PGE specific exploration projects and opportunities to ensure a robust and balanced project pipeline.

> The development of new ideas for multi-commodity exploration programs in areas capable of delivering high potential projects.

> Fostering professional development of technical and support staff throughout exploration to ensure the ongoing professionalism and capability of the exploration team.

> Key input into the development of the exploration and nickel & PGE business strategy

> Monitoring trends in exploration methodologies, initiation of new studies relevant to improve efficiency in exploration.

> Ongoing scanning of the nickel & PGE industry and timely identification of project acquisition and JV opportunities that meet the organisation’s project criteria.

This exciting new appointment is based in Belo Horizonte, with regular travel as required. As the ideal candidate, you will be tertiary qualified in geology with substantial greenfields nickel exploration experience and demonstrated capabilities in project generation, property and project evaluations and familiarity with leading edge exploration methodologies.
